Hello,
As some of you may already know, my name is Sentinel.
I am a Jedi Master, Council Member, Administrator, and I am in charge of Forum Maintenance at Real Jedi Knights. I am also a Jedi Master at Order of the New Dawn. I am also Joint Network Creator of the Organization of Jedi Masters, International Jedi Union, and the Order of the New Dawn Ning Networks along with Jedi Master Strider (Hornbeck).
I care a great deal about the Jedi Community and the Orders of which I am part and have tried to work towards helping it grow in many ways.
Although it is not on the scale of some of your Meetings; Master Silmerion Skywalker travelled from Italy to the UK to visit me for a week and so we could train together. Her Padawan Grey Fox, who lives in the UK also joined us for 2 days. I have to say that it was quite an experience and we all learned a great deal.

It's great to have you here. It's nice to hear that you and others are meeting fellow Jedi offline. There are definitely a lot of you in the UK. Hopefully if I ever make it up there again, I'll have the opportunity to meet you as well.

At this time I would like to ask that my account here be deleted. I have not been able to contribute here in a meaningful fashion and I am unlikely to be able to in the future.
I wish you all well.

Hey Sentinel,
You've actually already made enormous contributions to the JRC by organizing offline meetings in the UK. The JRC isn't the typical online discussion board. Our focus is on offline training and on assisting Jedi in meeting offline. Just by creating an account here, you're making a meaningful contribution by helping other UK Jedi to get in touch with you if they're interested in meeting offline and also in helping us to get a gauge of where Jedi are located throughout the world. Deleting your account would actually do us much more harm than good. So if it's ok with you, I think it would be greatly beneficial to the JRC to keep your account open. Please let me know what your final decision is.

I think you are right, Moonshadow and I will keep my account here.
I will still be training Jedi and organizing meetings offline with Silmerion Skywalker and this would be a good place to recruit people to join us and people to meet me too.
Thanks

Sounds good to me! That's what this site is here for. :) And hopefully I'll eventually be able to make it to one of your meetings. I'd love to meet both of you in person some day.

I was wondering about what you actually organize for offline meetings, Silmerion Skywalker and I want to plan something official this year and would appreciate ideas and the structure you have organized events offline in the past. At the moment we are just trying to get Jedi to meet and talk and train a little but we would like to go further.

Official as in a Regional Gathering, or official as in a wide scale international type Gathering?

I would have to say regional gathering. What I mean is that if there was to be a properly setup gathering what sorts of events or activities would you personally plan? I am looking for ideas for the future.

You can check out the Gathering Roster (http://www.jediresourcecenter.org/vb/roster.php) to get a general idea of what we did at past Gatherings. Events usually depend greatly on who is available to lead workshops and what people's interests are. You can also check out the JRC FAQ for some guidelines on how to organize a Gathering (http://www.jediresourcecenter.org/vb/faq.php?faq=b#faq_kn).
I am very interested in attending, or even assisting in organizing, a UK Gathering in the future, but definitely wouldn't be able to make one until at least 2012 since I'll be attending the NZ Gathering in 2011. So if you organize a larger scale Gathering in the future, I'll hopefully be there. :)
If you have any other questions we can set up a chat some time to discuss more details.

As one who has organized a few regional gathering, the "How To" is very accurate and should prove helpful. Of course, with the Regional being smaller than an International Gathering, it definitely makes things a little easier and less overwhelming. The Regional Gathering was only a one-day event as opposed to a whole weekend.
Additionally, I spoke with the chapter leaders in the surrounding states and asked if each would lead a workshop. This was particularly useful since each had their own area of expertise. One focused on energy work, another focused on swordwork, and my chapter led a meditation. Of course there was time for general discussion and fellowship.
I found that the biggest hurdle was getting a time and location. But once those were set, everything started to fall into place.
