Hi! I'm going with RO1234 for my Jedi name for now but I figure everyone can just call me RO (like row your boat) or Jedi Ro or RO1234 like I'm a computer or something. I consider myself a Jedi for several reasons but primarily because of my understanding of what we will call the Force. Information helpful to it's understanding comes from all sorts of fields of study so putting all of it together has been the center of my training up to this point. Still, physical fitness and skills have always been important too but now my current job is keeping me plenty physically fit so it's just up to me now to try and stay flexible and peaceful.
I'm very curious as to what other Jedi have to say about things. It seems as if the mindset of someone who strives to be a quality Jedi is one that would have great insight on the things I have questions about.
So for a brief introduction, their you go. Feel free to as me anything. I'll answer what I can.

Peace out!
~Ro

Welcome, Jedi Ro!

I see you are in Albania. Your English seems pretty good. Did you learn in school?

Any chance you could put your real location since one of the main purposes of this site is to help us figure out where Jedi are located? Even if you just listed your real country that would help us keep the information here accurate.

RO1234 Introduction

Hi!:) My name is Matt. I am 26 years old and I turn 27 toward the end of March. I am an Aries. However, for the astrologically interested, I have worked diligently on my stubbornness and have come to be quite the open-minded individual.*

I am planned to graduate the SFQC the beginning of April and continue on hopefully to first group in Japan. If not, than most likely Washington state. My language was Korean which I studied for 6mo. And my mos is 18 Delta which I am finishing next week.

I have been researching the Jedi way since about 2005 when I became the Kansas Jedi Chapter Liaison while attending Kansas University for Industrial Design. I ended up dropping out after realizing the normal university education system is not designed for, nor flexible enough to accommodate for, my unusual learning style. This was apparent to me after subjecting myself to a weeks worth of psychological evaluations done by the KU psychology department. My original concern was that I might have ADD or ADHD or some form of learning disability. The tests I was subjected to tested twelve areas of intelligence, grading on a scale of 1 to 100. 1 being classified as mentally retarded, and 100 being genius and 50 being average (I believe this still falls upon the bell curve of intelligence). The twelve tests were averaged together with a resulting score of 51. The individual scores and areas of testing were verbally explained to me and given to me in a print out. I was dumbfounded by their finding. The reason being, I had scores ranging from 7 to 99. In fact, I went home and plotted them on a graph from lowest score to highest and it was nearly a perfect line from my lowest "word reading" to my highest "spacial-visual reasoning". It may be expected that all my lowest scores coincided with skill most taxed in the process of college classes, where my highest scores are almost never necessary in a traditional setting. Long story short, I left.

So, before, during and after college I spent some time traveling. Two of my most noticeable journeys include my relocation to California for a volunteer job as a construction worker at a buddhist retreat center; Odiyan, and a National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) backpacking course I took in the Yukon territory Canada. Both were ineffable learning experiences.

I am an avid (or at least try to be) outdoorsman. I grew up Catholic but as part of my truth discovering journey, am no longer a believer of religions. I am forever open to discussion, and do tend to leave most believers alone, but there is still a bit of "wanting to screw with people" attitude toward those that believe. I am content with my understanding and seek not to ruin hope.*

I have recently purchased a wand, which I first spent much time getting to know the crafter. It was an interesting experience for me. Mostly because of the bringing to light the extent that I identify with the 'Magician' archetype.*

Which, by the way, did I mention I am very curious about psychology. Namely Carl Jung's works and also Joseph Campbel on the topic of mythology in context to human psychology.

So, to prevent me from getting to wordy about everything, let me list several other interests of mine and leave it at that.

Design
Mechanical Engineering with the focus of revolutionary methods and materials
Sports physiology
Barefoot walking/running (mostly with five-finger toe shoes:)
Recycling
Efficiency
Off roading (mostly preparedness for anything attitude) ... ( I've been stuck plenty;)
Herbology (mostly teas, coffee, and medicinal plants)
Outdoor/tactical gear design and construction
Medicine ( I am only a few credit hours shy of a Physician's Assistant) (But I'm not that into clinical medicine. More so, wholistic medicine. I plan to continue my studies in this regards)
Martial arts (experience with TaiKwanDo, HapKiDo, and military combatives)
Energy manipulation (Most of my studies focus on QuiGong)
Meditation for the clearing of the mind
Yoga as an overall health staple
motorcycles
cycling (fixie, road, full suspension mountain)
recently rock climbing
... Oh!
Wine
and good beer;)

I'm sure there's more:) but I'll leave it at that.*

My email is ChabiOne.Ro@gmail.com and you're all welcome to contact me about anything.

Peace,
Matt

That sounds like an interesting test. They should do that for everyone, and much earlier in school. Imagine how much education would improved if we were grouped by learning style and taught in a way that would assist our weaker areas and build our stronger, instead of just teaching everyone the same!

I'm glad you've learned to teach yourself in better ways. You're story was interesting, thank you for sharing it.
