greetings
while i am new to this site i'm actually old to the jedi path (nearly 20 years now)
i began at 13 and was made a master at 16. all my training took place in the physical world, which made it incredibly difficult since there were so few jedi back then, and my masters graded me on not just intellectual and spiritual development but physical development as well. since then i have only taken on 5 apprentices, all in the physical world and each trained under me for at least 2 years before moving on...i was even required to make my own saber as part of my training, i have since made 5 and plan to make my 6th once i get a mill/lathe. i'm AutoCAD certified so i can design pretty much any kind of saber i can imagine in AutoCAD's 3d modeler, and from there i'll be able to make it...currently i'm training at the temple of the jedi order to be ordained as a jedi minister.

Welcome to the JRC, RyuJin!
It's definitely fortunate that you found teachers to train with so early on your path. How did you meet your masters? I also started my path around the same age at 12, but other than in martial arts, didn't find most of my real mentors and teachers until I was 22 and had to gather bits and pieces on my own until then. Hard to believe it's been nearly 20 years for me as well now. I didn't even realize it had been that long until reading your post. It's a never ending journey, though. :)
Hopefully you can make it to one of our Gatherings to meet other Jedi offline. Please let me know if you have any questions.

it wasn't easy...since jedi wasn't socially popular...i forget how i managed...but i believe this simple axiom : when the pupil is ready the master will appear... i actually started "feeling the force" at a much younger age then when i began training...it's a long dark story on how it happened, but it changed me for the better. after my master promoted me to knight then master i didn't find another jedi(other then my first 2 apprentices) till i was around 22 over seas in the navy...in the navy i trained 2 more apprentices, then when i got out i didn't train another until 2 years later...that was in 2000 i haven't trained another since...i took time to train myself further like you said it's a never ending journey.

i remember now :) my friends dad was how i found the first master...i was at a bbq at my friends house and we were playing with those really old lightsaber toys, i kept beating my friend and one of his dads friends came over and started talking to me about it, back then there wasn't as much lore as there is now so my training consisted mostly of spiritual/philosophy, saber skills, and fitness, i even remember the obstacle course he had in his backyard...i also remember many blisters, bruises and sore nads from that course...i didn't learn much about the lore until my last apprentice, he was loaded with knowledge of it but lacked the physical skills...it's hard to believe it's been that long....now i feel like an old man....and i'm only closing in on 34.... now that i remember the whole obstacle course i'm gonna have to replicate that path of torture for my next apprentice >:) despite all that initial pain it put me in phenominal shape...
Greetings Master RyuJin
You seem to be very Knowledgable. I am only just entering the Jedi Path at nearly 43 I have a lot to learn. I have a master Adlar Perihelion he's very pacient. We have a long path to journey on but I feel like I have found my place within the jedi Community..
I usually reside at Force academy if your passin call in.

hello welcome into a bigger world.
you don't really have to call me master....i know some like to use it :)
i like to think of it as i know a little bit about a lot of things, since there is always so much more to learn... is that a website or a physical location?(force academy)

sweet my new saber arrived today, was outside in the dark trying it out :)
arbiter hilt with silver blade, whats really cool is that they even sent me 12 color disks which gives me like 144 possible colors maybe more...my math skills suck...i just have to finish the hilt with a rubberized grip...best part is that it's a rare hilt since they only had 4 and are no longer making that style...
of course once i get a mill/lathe i'll be making another one based upon one of the many designs i made on AutoCAD.
