Greetings my fellow Jedi. I hope all of you are prospering well and staying warm during these cold winter months. Allow me to introduce myself... my name is Ke-Yail (pronunciation: KEY-ALE).

I am 25 and I live in Kentucky. I am an only child... born unto a very indigent family... one might say 'slaves' to the system. I was raised by a woman with no knowledge of the Force. Only recently did I "figure it all out" (Who I am - and what I'm supposed to do with my life.)

The woman who raised me - not my real mother - revealed a prophecy to me a few months ago. Several years before I was adopted, she visited an oracle who predicted she would adopt a baby boy. The boy would be blessed with many gifts and talents... gifts and talents that most people do not have. He would grow to become very successful in life and would make a great change in the world.

I don't know how true the prophecy is, or if I will indeed fulfill it. But I do believe my path leads to a great positive change in this crazy, crazy world.

'Tis true, I am gifted... I sense others' thoughts and feelings without any effort. It may sound a little crazy - but if I focus and try really hard... I can manipulate time, moving super-fast while everything and everyone else around me moves slow. **I'm still trying to master this - it's extremely difficult. I have other abilities as well but don't wish to elaborate at this time.

I like to believe I am a skilled swordsman - I practice daily. I don't claim to be the best, nor do I seek to be. I only wish to improve my awesome skills with the sword and am definitely open to a friendly dual with other Jedi.

I would assume many Jedi realists are in fact fans of the films and have chosen to follow the philosophies behind the religion. I feel I don't necessarily fall into this category, for the Force has chosen me, not the other way around. My whole life I have wondered why I have the gifts I have and what I am supposed to do with them. I now understand that I am a Jedi... here to make our world a better place.

This is our darkest hour... our planet and its people need us now more than ever. Individually, we can do extraordinary things. But if we band together... the possibilities are limitless.

Let's do what we are here to do, my friends. Let's change the world for the better!

I look forward to befriending and getting to know some of the other Jedi here. Message me and be sure to check my profile and photo album.

Thanks for your time... may the Force be with us all.

With love,

-K.K.

Welcome to the group. I hope we can meet in person at some time in the future. May I ask if you have had any formal sword training and if so, what type?

Jeremy

Addendum: Come to think of it, even if you haven't had any formal training, I'd be interested in hearing more about whatever kind of training you've done.

Welcome to the JRC. Got plans this July?

well perhaps we can face off one of these days, friend. As for july... ha... remember when Anakin lived in a hut with his mother on tattooine and had not the freedom to go and do as he pleased??? Yes, friend... this is me. For me to make my way to Michigan in July would be like Young Anakin having the freedom to hop on a star cruiser and go to Coruscant without the help of the Jedi.

Unfortunately I don't foresee it happening - due to a lack of finances, mostly. Perhaps when a meeting is scheduled somewhere closer to Kentucky. Or if I win the lotto. But I look forward to meeting up with you guys one of these days... and we shall face-off, my friend. By the way... it would appear you have a child on the way... is that right?? I hope everything goes well, my man. May you and your family be blessed!

If you saved just a dollar a day from now until July you'd have enough for registration fees and even extra money to chip in for gas and other expenses. There may also be some Jedi passing through your way to might be able to help provide carpool. Where there's a will, there's a way. :)

If you're truly interested, I would recommend at least submitting a Gathering Registration Form (http://jediresourcecenter.org/vb/misc.php?do=form&fid=1), even if you're not yet sure if you can make it, so we can see what resources may be available to you.
