Hello. I was wondering how many of us would choose which path. Please only post here once.

The Paths are

Consular (uses the force in conjunction with diplomacy):sHa_yes2:
Guardian (focuses on martial arts and combat for peaceful purposes) :sFi_fencing:
Sentinel (first line of defense kind of like a dispatcher finds the right guardian or consular for the situation):sSig_welcome2:
Healer (What it says on the can):1zz:
Explorer (What it says on the can):pirashoot:
Scholar (Studies alot to gain as muhc knowledge as possible):sSW_yoda:

For most people it is hard to put themselves into specific categories. We all have talents and abilities that are useful in a variety of situations, but for the most part, it very much depends on when you ask.

Right now I am very physically inclined. I am certianly on the martial side of things especially in the field of swordsmanship. However, that is only one small part of who i am right now. I would not necessarily classify myself as a martial artist as my primary occupation. It is certianly a part of things, but is it my focus? no.

My Search and Rescue makes me interact with people regularly and save lives of the distraught. Leadership, communication, healing and decisiveness are all required.

So I might classify myself as a martially inclined Sentinel.

i couldn't really classify myself into just one category as i have such a large array of skills, knowledge and experience...i love to learn new things, i enjoy traveling and seeing things, i've been studying martial arts(physically, academically, and spiritually) since i was 8, because of my collateral duties in the military i'm trained in counter-terrorism/counter-espionage, i prefer to avoid a fight if at all possible, i enjoy sitting in isolated silence, i know quite a bit of basic emergency care(ie: braces, splints, trachyotomy with a pen, dealing with a sucking chest wounds) i'm good at survival skills....it would take forever to list everything i've learned so far and i continue to learn more... i'd like to create a new catch all class - jedi sage....ah ok so that name sux...lol simply jedi

I would classify myself as a Healer. While I have many talents, and a variety of skill that are all beneficial and all play great parts in my life. Healing is the one thing that calls to me most. Specially that of a Midwife.

I believe that all Jedi, and non Jedi alike learn many skills, and have at least attempted a variety of things. But there is only one in that entire bunch that they would identify with the most.

After going through the definitions (on wookiepedia) again to refresh my memory, I would probably describe myself as a Consular...though if lightsabers were real I would not have a green one. I still like yellow better.

I have to agree with the others on this one. To many skills that "Cross Class". If I have to choose one, though, I would have to say Guardian. Although, you missed one. Jedi Shadow. Look it up. I tend to fit into that one too.

I see guardian as the combination of all the other aspects-as such, I classify myself as Guardian.

I am a Scholar who has hardly any care for fighting but prefers to learn as much as possible so that I can pass it on to my brethren when they are in need. Maybe a little shadow jedi mixed in do to my training to be a shadow knight (not the same thing)

Kitsu Tails

honestly I don't see how anyone can be a Jedi Shadow....I mean...there like ninja's or assassins. Assigned for a specific "purpose" and not necessarily a specific "class."

Any "Class" could be assigned to work as a shadow, which makes them very diverse and not so defined. On top of that, they were only deployed when the council felt it was very necessary. After that they were disbanded because if they kept the group around for to long, they would start killing each other due to suspicion. So...at least in my opinion....they don't count here. But that's just me

good point kitsu. Then I change my post to say I am just a scholar. The only thing kitsu about what you said is that yes all classes can be shadows but only certain ones can do it right and make it work.

I suppose that with my training I would be a Jedi Guardian or a Jedi Sentinel. My skills are varied from military trainer, to scout, to operative, eventually to Pastor and then (after Sept. 11th 2001) a return to security services preserving and protecting the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic. Perhaps that makes me more of a guardian....

I would like to extend an invitation to any of you who are not there to visit the Jedi Enclave of Coelescere at www.thejediway.com

I would like to get to know you all better but, unfortunately, my admin duties have severely limited my ability to get around to other Jedi Sites. There are several very good sites out there and I appreciate the Jedi Resource Center and their continuing efforts to bring Jedi together. Together we can do so much more than we could apart.

May the Force Be With Us

Seein as I tend ta focus more on the martial side o things, I would be classed as a Jedi Guardian

I personally prefer jedi healer. Be mindful as always that even though healers goals are to "heal" on the mind, body, soul of their patient that does not mean that they are too weak to through down when they need to.

I thought the Sentinel was a cross between counselor and guardian! Honestly I'd be a cross over. I'd be a little of both without being specificially counselor or guardian. Some are better suited to one specific path I however like being a little of both! So what would that be?

I'm going to agree with Hannigan on this one! Although I love the mysticism of the star wars, and enjoy my lightsaber battles, I am truly fascinated with the healing potential we have as Jedi.

So Jedi Healer here...

Might I suggest a new path... as so many of us cross class why not institute a Jedi Jack(Jack of all trades...LOL)

Zaron
10-12-2010, 10:15 PM
lol that would be cool but so hard to manage all the aspects of the training needed to be one. Any one who could do that would be amazing =)

Master Alex Winward

hmmmmmmm my guess would ta study all paths so we can play watever role the Force may require o us, whether it be guardian, consular, healer, etc,etc

Zaron
10-13-2010, 03:45 PM
but winward surely u understand the attention it takes to train to be good at even one of those... maybe i'm seeing it wrong but i think we are all given gifts to use our own way learning all at once would be very stressful and it would take that area of training away from a fellow jedi or whatever focusing on one path makes u stronger and more of a use to people in need and the dif ways of the classes would not clash putting u in a bad place being unsure what to do or what class fit's best. no disrespect meant just my 2 cents =)

Master Alex Winward
10-13-2010, 04:57 PM
no disrespect taken Zaron, wat i meant ta say was, that sumtimes one needs ta fill all roles so one does not fail or misstep in watever role the Force mite require o us ta fulfill

Why say "I am a jedi healer" I am a "jedi guardian", "Jedi consular", jedi such and such? We should strive to be all these things. All are just jedi, each with their own unique talents. If we broke down everyones specialty into a path, we would have as many variations as there would be jedi.

Just be Jedi.

Macgilleon

Andy you hit the nail on the head just be Jedi.... And if you look at the different paths each of us have taken to get to this point, a lot of our experiences have cross classed already... Myself As an example have trained in many different weapons classes(ranged, close quarter etc... covers guardian) then on top of that I am trained in first aid, and combat first aid(covers healer) I could go on... but no need... I have been the type to believe in the past that one should be really good at one thing, and know just enough about everything else to be dangerous...LOL and just as an example if "you" are great at calming people but pass out at the sight of blood and I'm lousy with people but great when it comes to dealing with nasty things, "we" can use those separate skills to help someone that needs it.

Difficult it is to have too much on your plate, hard to accomplish tasks would be.

Macgilleon
Basic med skills are wonderful but as it pertains to Jedi Healers its only part of the training. Jedi Healers use "the force as there medicine. In the real world many Jedi Healers study paths such as reiki and other energy healing systems.

I would lean more towards the Guardian, but feel no real need to classify myself as such in that I would only limit what I can do by that classification. I feel that jedi should free themselves from such things and simply be just Jedi and not worry about anything else.

I've felt called to focus on one study or skill - and then add/replace it with another. Not to sound too dramatic - but I've always done best when I listened to what drew me and that can be a lifelong or a very fleeting interest.

Being too focused or strict can create burn-out and resentment if the feeling isn't there.

Or so it is with me.

I tend to agree with both sides so how about this. Indeed it i hard to be a master of all the time and effort needed to master one let almond all aspects. However, ou can master one while still being somewhat commpetent in the others. Mybe your a guardian but he situation requires a healer, well our not a master healer but you do know a little something o you are able to render ssome kind of aid. If hannigan would be better suited for this situation bit not available i will do what i can. Maybe all that's needed is my knowledge of where they can get hat healing did i heal them? Not directly but i did assist in he sitation. Trying to be all things to all people is a bit much if your trying to master all this. Guardian yes i think i lean towards that at but i do believe i can be a decent enough counseor. I do love learning more about he force and applying it in other areas of life so maybe im a sentinal. I know do know cpr but im going to say minmal for healer its too much to master all of these. So knowing a little about all the aspects is one thing mastering them is another we have to honest about our strengths our weakness and honest to ourselves. These are just my thoughts hope no toes are stepped on i do like good dicussions hey make us think and that's how we grow and help one another do the same. May the force be with us all
