Okay, news flash...

I ended up getting that Monday and Tuesday off so if people want to come out a little earlier, the door will be open. :)

Awesome! I think most people requested off on Monday anyway just in case, so I'll let you know what the consensus is.

I had to trade it for the Monday and Tuesday after the gathering, so likely no post Gathering celebration for me. Though, with Kairi I'm not sure how well it would have worked out anyways.

Just a couple more weeks now. Getting pretty excited! :D

Next year we will be able to enjoy the Post gathering better, 1 year olds are a bit easier to drag around then 3 months :-p And while Kairi is pretty well behaved...Id rather just wait for next year >_<

The way things are things are looking, my carpool will probably crash somewhere Sunday night and then head home early Monday morning post Gathering, so not much of a post Gathering for us either.

As for pre-Gathering, I think we'll likely come up either Sunday or Monday night if that's ok with you. Just need to check with Chuck to make sure he has the time off.

Monday night would be super! I know it's a bit more of a drive, but if any of the chicago-ites want to come out also we could really make it a party... ;)

Hmmm looks very interesting ^_^ But prolly to far for all of us to pool down to before the actual Gathering...

I was thinking about having all of us pre-gather'ers go to the Silverleaf Ren Faire (http://www.silverleafrenfaire.org/)though. less distance to travel, and lots of fun...at least I think so ^_^ I was also thinking about the MI Renaissance Festival (http://www.michrenfest.com/) as well (That is where I got pictures of me holding a Tiger Cub ^_^ )

Just another head's up

If you have Air mattress's or sleep pads...it might be a good idea to bring them for sleeping! We have lots of room...just not very much in the way of comfortable sleeping. We have one full size foam mattress that we can spare but sadly that's about it

The sword exhibition might be a possability for the post-gathering since it's open 'til 4pm on Sundays.

I could see it being a fun post gathering event ^_^ Sadly Mindas and I wont be doing the Post gathering what with Kairi. The gathering itself is a big step for her and us as new parents out of the house ^_^

hehe Mindas is right. You can show up whenever you guys show up :) With kairi I am up at all odd hours of the night. Generally feeding time is 12am - 2am - 4am with plenty of room to shift and change :-p so just worry about getting here :)

Also when you show up...if I don't answer just buzz my 'com' lol (PM me for the number) Its likely I'll either be in the nursery or the study :)

Dude i would love a sword trip. I dont know what their hours are, but i am there if you think we can make it.

Sunday they'll be open until 4pm and entry is $5. It's a good distance north of the city, so if we were to drive directly there from the camp it would take 2-3 hours depending on traffic. If we ate lunch early (or did fast food drive throughs) and left the camp at noon (central time, which is what the camp clocks are set to), we would get at least an hour at the exhibit.

The Chicago Botanic Garden is nearby and open until dusk, so we could hit that for a little more nature before the end of the weekend. If we want to hit the Willis (Sears) Tower also, we would either need to drive all the way back into town or leave a couple hours earlier (maybe after breakfast) and stop on the way.

Other options that have come to my mind for the post-gathering are laser tag or doing some martial arts that require mats (since we won't be able to do mat work at the gathering).

(since we won't be able to do mat work at the gathering).

Why not? Grass and earth is plenty soft enough for most purposes.
