Greetings to whom reads this
-bows-
My name is Jayin Draleg, it is my jedi name. I'am 18 years of age and live in the UK at Newcastle Upon Tyne and Wear. I currently attend college and i also work on a saturday.
I began my Jedi path last year in october and I find it a hard path to follow, but with patience, persistance and determination anything is possible. I'am currently a padawan at Real Jedi Knights to a master called Jan-Qui coran and I recieve my lessons weekly after I complete each one. My lessons so far are about The Jedi Characteristics, so that is humility, honesty, truthfulness ect. I find these very helpful for a jedi to know. my lessons later of these will be about the force then other helpful things. My training now is all to help me pass the Jedi knight trials, so that I can train my own padawan and also work on more training on myself.
I am attending a jedi meeting soon in the UK with others fron here and one Jedi master from Italy, we hope to train alot and find out more from each other. Communication and trust is the best thing for a jedi. Lack of this can lead to ignorance. "There is no ignorance. There is knowledge".
Im not so sure what else I can write about haha. but erm yes.....HELLO ALL.... I also like to have fun. even though Jedi are to be serious.

Welcome. I am curious how long apprenticeship lasts at RJK.

Apprenticeship last up until you are ready to move on to being a jedi knight or until your master thinks you are ready.
I have been a padawan for 2 month I think.
Thanks for the welcome :)
Cool, RJK is a newer site and I don't have a lot of experience with its membership. I look foreward to your contributions!

welcome to jrc, i've heard of that site but haven't been there, i'm at totjo (temple of the jedi order) most of the time. from your description it sounds like they use a similar format.
even jedi need to cut loose, if you don't have fun frustration can build up which leads to other negative emotions. fun allows us to relax and brings joy

I dont think RJK is a newer site, may I ask how old this site is.
I noticed there is a jedi here named silmerion skywalker. I must say you are lucky to have her here, she is a wonderful jedi full of knowledge and is a real friendly funy person. I am meeting here in the UK in august, I cant wait to train with her and other jedi here. We will be training with another master from the site we go to and her padawan also, and my friend who was a padawan too.
I would like to know why I cant find anyone on the map from the UK here? And can I be added to it please?

Welcome to the JRC, Jayzin! It's great to hear you've found mentorship along the Jedi path. Please keep us updated about the UK Gathering and ask Silmerion Skywalker to post an official announcement if possible. If you guys like, I will also help you advertise to get more participants.
We old annual Gatherings in the US as well and now our first one in NZ. I definitely plan to one day attend a UK Gathering if they become a bit more formal and hope that some of the Jedi across the seas will travel to the US as well.
To add yourself to the map, just click on the Jedi Map link on the top bar and follow the instructions there. If you have trouble, just submit a Contact Us form and we'll walk you through it.
We recently upgraded our website, so this particular site is less than a year old. The Jedi Gatherings Group has been around since 2003, though. Many of the Jedi here have been around even before the, so even though RJK has been around for a bit, it seems new in comparison. :p
Please let us know if you have any questions and encourage the other RJK members to join and post their locations on the map to help everyone to find fellow Jedi in their local areas.

Hey moonshadow. Thanks for your welcome. I will tell silmerion about it and she willl post a topic about im sure she always does hehe. I would travel over seas but i dont like flying even though i have never done it yet haha. I think I would go by cruise but it would take long and its expensive. I will stick to UK meetings for the now :P.
I will try add myself to the map, since the is no one on the for the UK.

Welcome to the JRC. I look forward to sharing with you.
Keep working on your Jedi lessons and I'm sure you'll figure out how to overcome your fear of flying. Flying is an unusual experience, but it's not so bad once you get used to it. Stuck on an Island, as you are, it would be wonderful to open your travel options to include flying.
And just to stir up some trouble, I want to express that I disagree with one of your signature quotes. "If there is only darkness, how can one see the light that flickers hope. If there is only light, how can one see the darkness." Those who walk in darkness would mostly prefer to quench the hope and those who walk in light would prefer to end the darkness. I disagree that it is necessary to have one to have the other, only that it is necessary to understand both to understand either.

How could you understand both without having both?

You couldn't. But if you were able to eliminate one, why would you need to understand either?
Some people seem to think that destroying one would destroy the other. I'm not really sure it's possible to completely destroy either, but if we did, I disagree that it would destroy both. I disagree that they must mutually co-exist. But since we live in a world where they do, it is imperative that we understand both.

Hi Jedi Draleg
There's a few of us from the UK on here (I'm on the map). A fellow jedi from Coelescere Covenant also lives quite close to you. In any case I hope that your training goes well.
May the Force be with You

Thanks for all your welcomes its nice to have friendly people.
JDmcowan, i dislike your comment "and just to stir up some trouble", a jedi does not stir up trouble so why would you say that.
light and darkness like the yin and yang.......I think that both will not exist without the other. If there is only light how will you see the darkness to acknowledge it or learn from it. If there is only darkness how will one find hope, forgiveness ect.

Don't take that too seriously. I meant to indicate that this was not meant as an attack, but rather just tossing a thought out there to see what discussion we would get. Another way to say what I meant is, "Just to inspire a little thought and discussion on this sometimes quiet board..." I agree that a Jedi would not stir up trouble needlessly, but I feel that sometimes a Jedi needs to stir up a little trouble to get things moving.

I disagree that one cannot exist without the other. I would say, rather, that one can not be named or described without the other. So, if there were only light why would you need to or want to acknowledge or learn from the darkness. Many dark Jedi don't believe in hope or forgiveness either. But I do like your comparison to yin and yang for what actually exists in our worlds.
The taijitu reminds us that there never is and never can be purity of opposing aspects. So there can never be pure evil or pure good. And there can never be pure light side and pure dark side. But still, as Jedi, shouldn't we strive to shrink the darkness tainting our light as much as possible. What disturbs me about the quote in your signature is that it sounds, to me, like it is encouraging the protection of some darkness within our light. It is likely impossible to eradicate all darkness, even within one's own heart, but I think it is the goal every Jedi should be striving for.
However, let me be clear! I am looking for conversation, not conversion (nor removal of the quote). Please share more of your thoughts on the subject.

Greetings Jayzin Draleg.... Welcome to JRC...
I have yet to meet anyone here, (or at the few Jedi sites I have been to), with malicious intent so rest assured most .... differences are mearly ways of striking up converations to see where you are coming from. I myself do this at times to see if I still agree with my original thoughts... I have been surprised to see that, sometimes, there are "better' ways to express what I am thinking, and once in a while, my opinion does change...:sSc_shocker:... (Mostly though, most folks just reaffirm what I think... that being said here is my two cents on jdmcowan's statements...:icon_evil:....)

I would like an example of something that exists, without a counter-part. Everything "Yin" I can come up with I can think of a "Yang".... I ask purely for... knowledge. I am not the most "schooled", but, I am an old duffer and have quite a bit of life under my belt. Your theory is interesting, but in my opinion, nature does not allow a "Yin" without a "Yang".....

Your reference to "darkness" seems to infer dark as 'evil'....
I have heard folks call themselves "Grey" Jedi. Your actions to yourself would most of the time feel as if it is positive, but to anothers perspective, it would seem the opposite. I am a big believer that perspective, and perception are what defines an action as 'good' and 'evil'.... To be purely "good or evil" would be tough. And I think an impossible act.... just my opinion....
